Dear Friends:

With great enthusiasm, I am seeking re-election to my third term as Mayor of New Bedford. It is an honor and privilege to represent the citizens of New Bedford and I believe that we can accomplish a tremendous amount of work over the next two years in continuing to revitalize our City. We have made real progress over the last 3 ½ years in the areas of integrity and transparency in government, public safety, educational opportunities for our children, and neighborhood enhancement. In addition, despite a very difficult economic climate, we have seen solid achievements in economic development.

I ask that you consider contributing to my campaign. I know that we are all in the toughest recessionary period since the depression, and that your hard-earned dollars must be allocated carefully. Over the past three years, I have used a large percentage of my campaign funds to make contributions to important charitable causes and organizations for the betterment of the people of our City. I intend to continue this practice as it enables many of our private and non-profit partners to continue their fine work.

I look forward to continuing to work with you to ensure a great future for our City.
